$3 Billion Infrastructure Investment Fund Breaks 2015 Record

I Squared Announces Closing of Infrastructure Investment Fund

I Squared Capital just announced it closed a $3 billion infrastructure investment fund, the biggest yet in 2015.

The New Yorinfrastructure investment fund director sadek wahbak City-based group only emerged on the radar in 2013, when several former Morgan Stanley executives came together to form the fund.

Sadek Wahba, I Squared’s managing director and former head of MS’s infrastructure fund, said in a statement it was a “major milestone” and a “a strong vote of confidence from our investors.”’

The fund, called ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund, has so far made eight investments across twenty-two assets, including a pair of hydropower plants in Ohio, as well as gas-fired power plants under construction and district energy systems. I Squared has also started making a big splash in emerging economy projects, including wastewater treatment plants in China and a tollroad in India.

The company has offices in New York, Houston, London, New Delhi, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
